  3/20/08  Chamber Planning Session
       At an informal lunch at Frank’s Steak restaurant, Larry Siegel, President of the RVC Chamber of Commerce, led an animated discussion of the work being done to bring shoppers into Rockville Centre and attract new business to the village.
       A new brochure listing the many projects underway to attract potential customers to Rockville Centre is in the final stages of production. It will be distributed to help each business owner know how to use these projects to boost awareness of their products and services. The colorful 2008 Business Directory and Shopping Guide will also provide an opportunity to place a business ad that will be seen by shoppers for an entire year.
       Key to the success of the many projects underway, is the wider participation of business owners to become members of the Chamber of Commerce. The strength of numbers will improve the organization’s ability to develop favorable economic solutions to it’s many projects and enhance it’s relationship with the Village.
       Sharing the planning session were Mary Ann Flume (Astoria Federal), Chuck Chardell (Chardell, Inc.), Luz Puello (C.H.S.), Gail Desibio, (Capital One Bank), Yndiana (Sparks Unisex), Marilyn Fisher, CFP (Signator Advisory Group), Ileane Abady (Star Community Publishing) and Margarita Fox (Mercy Medical Center).
 
  3/8/07  Monthly Meeting Held at Cannon Blackthorn
The March 6th monthly meeting of the Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce was held at Cannon Blackthorn. The speaker for this event was James Reed, Deputy Commissioner of the Nassau County Department of Consumer Affairs. Commissioner Reed discussed the ever-growing problem of identity theft and taught us many ways to prevent it. We thank Commissioner Reed for his insight and his knowledge and for educating us about this subject. We would also like to thank the fine management and staff of Canon Blackthorn for their warmth, hospitality and good food.
 
 
11/1/06  McCarthy & Skelos Issue 100th Anniversary Proclamations
Both U.S. Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy and State Senator Dean Skelos have recognized the Chamber's 100th anniversary with proclamations.

11/1/06  100th Anniversary Street Fair

      On Saturday, October 14th the Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 100th Anniversary.
       A spectacular street fair was held on Front Street between Park Ave and Centre Avenue. There were over 100 vendors displaying goods and services to the community. Many dignitaries were in attendance to show the Chamber their support.
       We would like to thank The Village of Rockville Centre,Town of Hempstead and all our members who participated in this event.
 
 
10/1/06  CHAMBER DEBUTS NEW WEBSITE

      The new, greatly improved Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce website opened for business early in October having undergone beta testing in September.
      New features such as printable Merchant Coupons, spam proof email links, community photo slide shows and much more can be found at www.rvcchamber.org and www.rvcchamber.com
